Fables from the Farm
conceived and written by Jade Fusco
Last November, thanks to a 10k grant from the City of Austin’s Live Music Fund, I gathered a team together to produce an unprecedented event in “the field” of edu-tainment:
An immersive, educational, culinary, theatrical experience at Austin’s oldest urban farm and historical landmark, Boggy Creek!
Our guests were guided around the farm-grounds by a choir of magical “Boggy Bards”, who sang songs and enacted scenes written for the farm that revealed hidden histories of the land and neighborhood, as well as taught about some central tenets of regenerative farming.
At 7 different locations, our guests encountered a new scene, and were served a delectable site-specific dish crafted by the chefs of Kaya Cafe, inspired by and prepared with ingredients grown from the land upon which they stood.
It was a true synthesis of ritual theater, storytelling and a supper club, all in service of communing with mother nature in every melody and mouthful.
We plan on producing Fables from the Farm again this November of 2024, so please send an email via the “contact” form to be added to our mailing list for updates and ticket sales! We were sold-out with a waitlist at our debut!
